So thrilled to see that you are a fan of Eric Whitacre's music, which my children performed in HS and college. I hope you know how much we miss you as our highly intelligent, kind and compassionate Surgeon General, but how grateful we were for your service to this country.
Laurie, thank you so much for your kind words. It truly means a lot to me. Eric Whitacre has such a unique gift for capturing the human spirit through sound; how wonderful that your children got to experience performing his work! It’s an honor to have served, and I’m so glad we can continue to connect here through the things that sustain us, like beautiful music.
This is gold. The power of music to envelope up and keep us connected cannot be understated. In a couple of weeks I’ll be taking my son (age 11) to his and my first Sting concert. The sounds of my youth. And now his, too.
This is such a special milestone, Pradnya! There is something magical about the "full circle" moment of sharing the sounds of your own youth with your son. I hope the Sting concert is a beautiful experience for both of you. Music really is one of the best ways to bridge the generations. Enjoy every note!
Wow! This is amazing! I love the idea of bringing your Substack community together through building something WITH them! That is the thing that drew me to this platform!
I couldn't agree more. Building this mixtape together made the music feel so much more meaningful. I’m thrilled to have you as part of this community as we find new ways to create together!
Thank you for being here, Mary. "Living with ease" is such a beautiful intention. I hope these songs provide a little bit of that peace and reflection for you today. ❤️
This is amazing - I reflect on this article and playlist in my most recent Substack article and what this means for my own life experiences with cancer and those living with dementia.
